Dai dai hua Weight Loss closes 6 midstate locations

 A popular diet company is shedding more than just pounds. LA Weight Loss trimmed 22 Pennsylvania location, 55 employees from its budget waistline. Several locations are in the midstate.


Typically dressed in black to look slimmer, NFL Head Coach Andy Reid has always tried to hide his battle of the bulge. Recently, the Philadelphia Eagles leader attributed losing 75 pounds to LA Weight Loss. However, Reid will no longer have a store to have consultation meetings.


On Monday LA Weight Loss announced the company shut down six locations in Central Pennsylvania today. Six employees were also let go according to a company spokesperson.


CEO Fraser Clarke apologized in a statement that read, "We deeply regret the set of unforeseen circumstances that led to this decision and its impact on our staff and their families."


Clarke explained the decision comes after slow progress in Pennsylvania, "[C]hanging client behavior and a lingering recession have presented challenges to our U.S. store operations."


Even Hollywood icons like Whoopi Goldberg once endorsed LA Weight Loss for her weight management success. The company is transitioning about 1,500 clients into its 'LA. On the Go' program. Customers will use the online and phone service instead of person-to-person consultations dai dai hua  and supplement order pickups.


The company said each store is officially closed today, however, the locations will remain open until the end of the business week to allow clients to pickup final orders.
